We live inside a magic trick,
or, better said, an endless game.
What makes an economy tick,
oils activity? Into the frame
comes a little thing called the law.
It’s role not to find faults or flaws;
rather to be the shy referee,
without which trade is all at sea.
In exchanges it holds the ring
with quiet words, big pictures seen,
advising so business is serene.
Bringing fairness to everything,
the invisible hand’s hidden helper:
regular rules a calming shelter.
With thanks to Amar Mehta, News Reporter at Sky News, for his contribution.

To provide a fresh perspective, law firm Addleshaw Goddard turned to poets, because lawyers and poets use the same tools… words. These two professions use words to convey meaning; inspire change; and help us understand and navigate our world.
